Limerick-a-Day: No. 7

A little piece, written in strange times

—————————————————————————————————————————-

Very strange the times, that we’re in
Inhale the silence, there’s no din
Respect in the air
Until the last scare
Safety first, and we’ll have THE win

Limerick-a-Day: No. 6

A little piece, written in strange times

In the early light, of a cool Spring day
Restrictions permitted, to only 2K
Down to the store
Just like before
I silently, thankfully, make my way

Limerick-a-Day: No.5

A little piece, written in strange times

For the wonderful carers, on the frontline
Your bravery is beauty, time after time
We sing your praise
For the hope you raise
With you to the fore, we’ll do fine

Limerick-a-Day: No. 4

A little piece, written in strange times

The cabin fever, has become a strain
But without it, there is no gain
The ‘new’ is here
But do not fear
‘Cos together we can, beat this pain

Limerick-a-Day: No.3

A little piece, written in strange times

—————————————————————–

No walks in the park, or on the strand
The joys of life, now sadly banned
They’ll come a new
For me and you
And that day will be, ‘Oh so grand’.

Limerick-a-Day: No.2

A little piece, written in strange times.

————————————————————————————-

‘Twas ne’er a hoax, it’s a killer disease
Bringing people, countries to their knees
Now be you strong
And do no wrong
Six feet away, if you please

C’mere to me, what a story I’ve got
Of dangerous times, that we want not
Visiting’s all done
It’s not much fun
Do only your best, it’ll not be forgot

The Isolationist

I penned this poem in response to Covid-19 and its effect on daily life. It’s a steep learning curve that we are on right now and, hopefully, we will ‘make it through’.

—————————————————————————————————–

While things are bad, and there’s no doubt
And you know, what’s hit the fan,
When doctors say you can’t go out
Sure, isolation is your only man.

When your voice has gone, and the thirst is bad
And you know you need a can
Open the fridge, and be smiley glad
Sure, isolation is your only man.

It’s everywhere, getting worse by the day
And keep your distance, that’s the plan
It’s what we need, THEY always say
Sure, isolation is your only man.

Don Cameron 2020

Sure, isolation is your only man

Sure, isolation is your only man
