Roses are red, and masks are few
What a change, do what you do
Keep head held high
Reach for the sky
Breathe in freedom, you got through
Roses are red, and masks are few
What a change, do what you do
Keep head held high
Reach for the sky
Breathe in freedom, you got through
Up on the hill, people go and stare
At the heavenly vista, on a day so fair
Surrounded by blue
Of light and dark hue
Smile with eyes, it’s beyond compare
Congratulations all, it’s time to cheer
After so much pain, let’s have no fear
Meet loved ones soon
Such a magical boon
So smile again, shed a happy tear
Written in response to the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
It’s cold today, and my breath blows white
Beside the bay, in the early winter light
Gulls caw and fly
Against a blue sky
Where a shining ball hangs, oh what a sight
The end is nigh, for a difficult year
So much pain, and many a tear
Now move on with hope
Of course you’ll cope
Just do your best, and have no fear
The end is nigh, for a very bad year
So much pain, and a billion sad tears
Keep head held high
For we must try
To move on bravely, without the fear
C an we do this thing? some people ask
O f course, yes, but it’s no easy task
V alue your time
I t will be fine
D itch this virus, then the mask
B ikes are brilliant, for getting around
I nspiring transport, but do not clown
K eep safe and aware
E nsure your care
S teady as you go, now roll into town

The time’s a changin’, and soft light fades
Jack Frost is here, his cold touch invades
But do not you fear
There’s much to cheer
Long walks, hot drinks and noisy charades!
