Travel restrictions, don’t make my day
I must be creative, having only 5k
A walk on the pier
That I value so dear
Tangy air to breathe, by deep blue bay

The virus aimed, and did hardly miss
Cost a heavy price, with no hug or kiss
We will prevail
To tell the tale
Of being with loved ones, oh what bliss
Up. up and away...
Just got the news, that a good friend is sick
The virus came silently, and hit him quick
Always first to assist
He’ll fight and resist
To beat this menace, now Come on, Mick!

Start of the new year, it’s a quiet day
No meetings allowed, nothing to say
My dream for now
It will be a wow
To wave to a friend, and just say ‘Hey’

A bumping of elbows, done with a smile
Long time, no see, but it’s all worthwhile
To meet in the flesh
Much better than texts
We laugh out loud, and walk a friendly mile
The rain is falling, it’s hard and cold
New Year is coming, better than old
Let it ease the pain
Some normality again
To this recurring dream, I firmly hold
H ave a good one, the best that you can
A break is needed, by every woman and man
P eace and love y’all
P lease do not fall
Y es, and stay focused, that must be the plan
Into the light

Christmas is coming, but not as before
The virus has hurt, right to the core
Stay strong and true
We must get through
To better times, for us to explore
Since the virus came, so much bad news
There’s many reasons, for feeling the blues
The year’s been a mess
Each day a tough test
Be thankful, however, that we can choose

The best Christmas gift, there’s ever been
A working drug, to beat C-nineteen
Let’s get this done
So that everyone
Can be thankful for, the new vaccine
