Roses are red, and masks are few
What a change, do what you do
Keep head held high
Reach for the sky
Breathe in freedom, you got through
Roses are red, and masks are few
What a change, do what you do
Keep head held high
Reach for the sky
Breathe in freedom, you got through
Congratulations all, it’s time to cheer
After so much pain, let’s have no fear
Meet loved ones soon
Such a magical boon
So smile again, shed a happy tear
Written in response to the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
The end is nigh, for a very bad year
So much pain, and a billion sad tears
Keep head held high
For we must try
To move on bravely, without the fear
C an we do this thing? some people ask
O f course, yes, but it’s no easy task
V alue your time
I t will be fine
D itch this virus, then the mask
B ikes are brilliant, for getting around
I nspiring transport, but do not clown
K eep safe and aware
E nsure your care
S teady as you go, now roll into town

Walking on sunshine, the only thing to do
The sky is clear, and it’s great being with you
Let’s have fun in the sun
There’s no need to run
On the warm beach, neath a canvas so blue

The shell I discovered, was lying alone
No seaweed nearby, or friendly stone
With no place to hide
Or waves to ride
Now on my desk, it’s found a new home

We climbed the hill, under a bright sunrise
The high point, of our quiet emprise
On the sea down below
Light danced to and fro
A beautiful memory, such a sweet surprise
Killiney Bay, Dublin
Had a friendly stroll, just the other day
There was much to see, but little to say
Because silence is golden
Words remained unspoken
As being together, made it all okay

The sand is warm, as I happily go
Another step, in the bubbling flow
Where frisbees fly
Under an azure sky
‘Let’s go to the beach’, I can’t say no
To the beach
